So, you are not a Talented Harpist, Gifted Communicator, or Respected Surgeon? But have People commented that you are a natural of Cross-Country Skiing, Landscape Painting, or Computer Repairs? Do you even remember when you learned to be a Stenographer, Mechanic, or Carpenter? Are you an Incurable Inventor, an Avid Researcher, or a Party Planner Par Excellence?

Do you wonder why GOD gave you the Gift of Thinking Clearly under pressure or of having a Photographic Memory? What crisis or problem have you faced in your Life: an addiction, infertility, a stock market crash, a kidnapping, an abortion, a job loss, an angry teen, or a hateful acet of discrimination? How did GOD use your pain or sadness? Did he fill you with Empathy for Others, draw you Closer to Him, or Teach you to obey Him? Did it cause you to bond with someone more closely?

Did you end up taking a risk you would not have taken? Did your grief or frustration turn you in a new direction, protect you from a greater harm, or give you Wisdom you could share with others who are hurting? Did someone else ask you about your *Strong Faith* during your trials?

Did you learn to *TRUST GOD* and let Him Help You? We must experience the *BLESSING* of how Christian Women can walk side ~ by ~ side to help each other.

JESUS is, of course, our Primary Hero and Role Model. Secondary ones might include a Biblical Character, Historical Figure, Family Member, or even a Literary Character. Who has been a Beacon of Light, a Ray of Hope, or an Inspiration to you?

Who invested him or herself in your Life? Who has filled a Critical Role for You? We all need someone we can look up to and learn from. Give this some thought Today, because such people will nudge you toward God's Best For Your Life.

Or, have you learned about Courage from a terminally ill Friend? We must Embrace Life's Lessons through Pain to find Real Peace, Freedom, and Truth.

Whenever God's Spirit

is Working and Blessing,

fragrance of Kindness.

It is staggering to remember that Peter walked with Jesus for three Years and received Teaching, Discipleship, and a Moral example unparalleled in all of History. And yet all of that never made Peter the man God intended him to be.

It is not until we see Peter "filled with the Holy Spirit" that things really turned around. No wonder Jesus excitedly assured them that greater days were coming for all of them when the Holy Spirit, their invisible Helper, came upon them in Power.

Ministry is especially Hopeless without the Holy Spirit. Our attempt at Ministry will be an absolute exercise in futility if we are not expecting and experiencing Divine help through the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Blessings can either Humble us

and draw us closer to God,

or allow us to become full of Pride

and Self~Sufficiency.

During a Conference on World Religions held in Great Britain, some o the greatest Theologians in the World began a friendly Debate as to what Belief ~ if any ~ in the Christian Faith made it unique from the other Religions of the World.

The Debate soon grew heated as possibilities were considered and eliminated. Could it be the Incarnation? No, there were other Religions that had Gods who took on the form of a Human. Could it be the Resurrection? No, there were some Religions in the World that held claim to accounts of a return from death.

Eventually C.S. Lewis entered the room to see what the commotion was about, and when he heard the topic up for Debate, he nonchalantly responded. "Oh, that's easy! It's GRACE." After further discussion, the "Experts" had to agree.

The idea that God freely offers Salvation ~ no matter what good or bad deeds we have done ~ is unique among all Religions of the World. Buddhists in China, Muslims in Saudi Arabia, Hindus in India ~ all are seeking a way to Please God by the things that they do, the Sacrifices they make, the Penances they perform. But God's Love is Unconditional: Your performance doesn't matter!

Jesus has already paid the price ~ and because of "HIS SACRIFICE", "GOD'S GRACE" is available to you today. All you have to do is "ACCEPT IT".

No wonder the Famous Hymn calls this sort of GRACE, "AMAZING"!

GRACE FOR TODAY:

Salvation cannot be earned. It is a "Freely Given Gift", unearned and unmerited.

~ NO WALLS, BAD CITY ~

A Man without Self~Control

is like a City broken into

and left without Walls . . .

Proverbs 25:28

*KNOWLEDGE IS POWER*, but the best and Most Useful Form of that Power is Power over Ourselves. So said the Philosopher Spinoza, whose words could have come straight from the Bible. As you may already know, the Bible is thoroughly Pro~Self~Control, which puts it in Opposition to our Culture, which tells us that giving in to every Selfish Impulse is a Good Thing.

Our Ancestors could not have grasped this. They would have asked the Obvious Questions: How can you even Develop a Self if you have no Self~Control? How can People get along well in the World if each one is at the Mercy of the Others' Impulses?

Proverbs 25:28 compares Self~Control to the Walls of a City. With no Walls, a City was Defenseless, almost certain to be attacked by enemies from without. With no Self ~ Control, a Person is Defenseless, certain to be at the Mercy of his Own Impulses. Aside from his Impulses Harming Himself, they can do tremendous Damage to the People around Him. Think of some Basic Problems of Contemporary Society ~ Alcoholism, Drug Addiction, Predatory Sexuality, Street Crime ~ and you can Trace them all to People giving in to their Worst Inclinations. And by Failing to Practice Self~Control, they grow Less and Less able to Exert it.

It is appropriate that Proverbs 25:28 uses the Image of an Undefended City: the Main Reason that so many Cities Today are Hellish Places to Live is that so many of the Inhabitants have no Self~Control. Graffiti, Muggings, Road Rage, Physical and Verbal Abuse, the Taken~For~Granted Lack of Courtesy that Grates on every~one's Nerves ~ chalk them all up to Lack of Self~Control. Even when we aren't Affected Directly, we Live in the Fear of other People Losing Control.

One of my College Classmates works with an After~School Program with Junior High/Middle School Kids, Teaching them to Abstain from Sex until Marriage. Does the Program Work? In terms of 100 Percent Effectiveness, No. In terms of Some Effectiveness, Yes. Children and Teens know something Instinctively: you can't go through Life without Rules and Boundaries. Some Behaviors have to be off~limits. They expect Adults to be Boundary~Setters, and they have more Respect for the Adult who says, "Just Say No" than the Adult who says, "When you do Engage in Sex, be sure to use Protection, and . . ."

The same applies to Drug and Alcohol Programs that Emphasize "Just Say No." It seems pretty clear that too many Adults have abandoned their Tasks as Standard~Setters and Teachers of Self~Control, and the Young Folks have responded in the predictable way, not Respecting those Adults. Happily, some Grown~ups prefer doing the Right Thing to being "Cool," and Kids Respect this.

Kids need to Hear the Same Message as Adults: the Real Hero is the Person who Conquers His Evil Inclinations. Ultimately, the only Power a Person has is that which he Exercises over Himself. True Power is Knowing that You can, but you Don't.

Resolution: Think of People you know who are "Severely Lacking in "Self~Control." Are those People Happy? Have you ever considered Suggesting to those People that they might try Not Giving in to all Their Impulses?

~ ANGEL WINGS ~

ANGELS GUARD US, Guide us, Watch over us, and Bring us*Comfort, Courage, and Hope*. They are God's Messengers, reaching out to us to Remind us of his Love and Concern for Us.

Throughout recorded history, Angels appear again and again in the crucial moments of people's lives. In the Bible, an Angel spoke to Mary. Other Angels sang at the *Birth of Jesus, God's Son*. Another Angel warned Joseph to flee with his family into Egypt for safety. And Angels stood watch over the empty *Easter Tomb*.

In our Lives, Angels are as close as others' outstretched hands. They Reach for us with hands of Support, Patting our Shoulders in Encouragement, Tending us in illness and darkest Despair, and holding our hands when we are Afraid.

We recognize God's Message to us through his Ministering Angels. We are not alone! God Cares. He always has and always will. Perhaps that's why Angels Fascinate us and why we watch Angel Movies and Television Shows, Read Angel Books, Wear Angel Jewelry, and Collect Angel Figurines. My Collection of Sacred Angel Figurines ~ have become my Extended Family. As I look at all their faces, I feel a Great Sense of Calm. I have named some of my Sacred Angels, however, I have collected them since 1999. The best name for all of them would be My Blessed Family . . . Love, Faith and Hope! They represent Blessings, Calm, Company, Strength and Power. ( I could continue on . . . and on . . . :-) I am so . . . Blessed!

Most of us hear Stories from Friends and Family ~ amazing Tales of Angels Intervening to Protect or Guide. With every Angel Story, we feel Anew the Awe and Wonder of their Presence, the Sense of Security that they're close by and watching over us, and above all else, the Promise that God Cares Enough to Send Them.

We Decorate Christmas Trees with Angels, listen eagerly to Angel Stories, and hold in the *Secret Places of our Hearts and Expectation that Angels Hover Nearby*. At any Moment, they might Appear as a Loved One, a Stranger, or Another of God's Creatures, when we need them most. And when they do, they Touch us, and we are Forever Changed, for *They Have Become a Real Presence in our Lives*.

Experience the Joy and Security of knowing that these Angelic Messengers are Part of our Lives, share the *Comfort and Hope*, Faith and Blessings they Bring, and Draw Strength and Peace knowing Angels come to us because *God Loves Us*. *God has a Constant
Protective Presence*. You may hear Angel Wings ~ Beating Gently Upon Your *HEART*!

Give me the Strength of Will to go "Attach Myself to a Band of Believers" who will Encourage me to Stand Up, Stand Tall, and fight like someone who has the armor and the "Power of God" Working in my Life.

We are not wrong to think we desperately need to be Loved. We do. But we are wrong to think we can make anyone Love us the way we need to be Loved. Our need for Love does not constitute anyone Else's call but God's.

Perhaps you have heard the devastating words, "I just do not Love You Any More". Others may not have heard the words but have felt the Feeling. Throughout Life we will lose people ~ people who really Loved us ~ to Death or Changing Circumstances. As Dear and Rich as their Love was, it was not Unfailing. It Moved. It Died. It Changed. It left Wonderful Memories, but it also left a Hole. Only God's Love Never Fails.

I used to Struggle with God's Love for me because I knew my own sins and weaknesses ~ all the reasons He should not Love me. Surely everyone else was not the mess deep inside that I was! (Of course, some people can be so full of Self~Righteousness, they seem convinced God Loves them best of all.)

But why do we have such difficulty Believing God could Love with the same unfailing Love those we perceive as good and those we perceive as bad? It's because we relentlessly insist on trying to Humanize God. We tend to Love people according to how they act, and we keep trying to create God in our Image.

A surprising day off, a long Walk in the Woods, a Movie, an enjoyable Evening relaxing with a Friend over a bowl of popcorn, a game of Racquetball or Golf ~ these diversions can make all the Difference in our Ability to Cope with Life's Crushing Demands.

We need to give ourselves permission to enjoy various moments in Life, even though all of Life is not in Perfect Order.

This takes Practice, but it's Worth the Effort.

Whenever you are having anxious moments in your Life, turn your thoughts to the Angels and ask for a blessing of protection. Let the Angels assist you. They are always there to offer a shoulder or to help you carry your burden.

I don't believe that tragedies and difficulties happen because Angels desert us. Angels are always with us. For reasons... which we may not always be able to fully comprehend, we must at times in our lives go through pain... Whenever we are confronted with problems, Angels are ready to help us cope.

Pain provides us with opportunities for tremendous Spiritual growth. Angels are not empowered to make decisions for us about our life's plan. They can only intervene when necessary to help keep that plan on track. They also can provide a source of Spiritual nourishment when we most need it.

I am Blessed ~ My Angels are with me 24/7/365 :-)

And if you're the mother of young children, you're also helping to shape the habits of your kids. So it's always good to take an honest look at the habits that make up the fabric of your *Homebased* Christian Day.

Are you and your family members eating and exercising sensibly? Have you established healthy patterns that will improve the chances that you and your loved ones will live long, healthy Christian lives?

Once you establish healthy habits, and when you reinforce them every day, you'll be surprised at how quickly your physical, mental, and spiritual health will begin to improve. So why not start forming those healthier habits today?

Have you ever been so confused about something that it literally made you sick? Has confusion clouded your judgment? Many woman mask their pain of confusion to the world. They put on makeup and a stoic face. They don a smart~looking out~fit and a matching demeanor. They sip their coffee and zip their lips, never daring to let on that they are creatures of confusion.

Go ahead and admit today that there is something in your life that confuses you. It will set you free from that world of secrets and invite God's clarity and purpose. One bit of advice: Until God Speaks, wait to take Action. . .

~ CONFUSION REIGNS SUPREME! ~

What's your greatest area of confusion? Is it whether to be an Entrepreneur, how to deal with coworker cliques, when to downsize for retirement, or how to stop the grumbling in your ministry? Does your confusion have to do with your medical debt, waning spirituality, management styyle, life balance, or time~consuming hobby? Do you wonder where you are supposed to plant seeds of faith, how to De~Clutter your home and garage, or what to do about someone who is slandering you?

Are you confused about who to trust, what to do next, or why you were blamed for something?

"I believe that if we could get people to uncross their twisted~pretzel arms, unlock their tightly guarded emotions, and laugh at themselves. "It's then that the Holy Spirit can break down the walls that divide us from each other and from God". "Confusion is a direct result of the Fall." Up until then, life was, oh, so simple~so sparkling clear. Now we're all just trying to machete our way through the Thicket that is this post~Eden, pre~Heaven, Earth~life.

"I am learning that, although God is not the author of confusion, he often uses the confusion in my life, so that I will listen more closely for his voice, examine more intently my past missteps, and appreciate more completely his peace that is only truly apparent in the middle of my muddle. I do strive, believe it or not, to stay in his presence, the only place where confusion is not a given on this confusing planet. Of course, since Earth is not our real home, the confusion makes us aliens and foreigners, who look all the more forward to arriving Home."

~ WHEN HAVE YOU PERSEVERED? ~

What took long-term stamina for you to accomplish? Are you glad you did not give up? How often did your mind wage war against your emotions, saying, I can't do this anymore; yes I can; no I can't; I'm not quitting? But you kept at it. You persevered to the end! You were rewarded with what you set out to accomplish. Did you notice that your character improved along the way? God has assigned to you certain purposes in life for which he expects loyalty and commitment. The attitude that grows through perseverance is, There's no turning back from what God asks!

~ PERSEVERANCE IS NOT OPTIONAL ~

Was there a time in your life when giving up was not an option? Perhaps God asked you to restore a relationship, build a ministry, heal from abuse, forgive an offender, or find a job. Maybe he entrusted you to raise a terrible-twos toddler, pray for an unsaved spouse, be a good witness during a serious illness, or wait patiently for a book contract. Did you persevere while completing your undergraduate degree, learning to play racquetball, finalizing an adoption, or building a cabin?

Secret Strategy: "Pray and decide where you believe God wants you to be in ten years from now, and then . . . get on with it! Say, 'Yes, I can. Yes, I will. Yes, I am starting right now.' And, remember, the first step is always the hardest one of all."

When Have You Persevered?

"Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope".
